Liverpool 7s Competition 2016
Congratulations to our A Team who finished as runners up in the Liverpool 7s at Rainhill High School on Tuesday afternoon.
Playing against six other area winners, the boys won 4 and drew one of their games in this prestigious event. The quality of football was very high and the competition fierce throughout.
Goal scorers at the event were Lucas (2), Rhys (2), Bailey, Rico and Jack (from a goal kick). Rhys scored a nerveless last minute penalty to win one of the games but Jack was the hero of the afternoon with a string of great saves to keep the team in the competition.
The runners up position means that the team now qualify for the final of this event. Although the next stage is usually staged at Anfield, we think it will happen at Liverpool Academy due to the extensive building works at Liverpool's ground.
