Farnborough Road Junior SchoolBelonging together, learning together, achieving together
Congratulations to our Y5 and 6 Athletics team who came second in the prestigious Merseyside Indoor Athletics Competition in Widnes on Friday 11th March 2016.
Â
The event was made up of 14 teams from across the county who have all won their local events so the standard was very high indeed. Our team of 28 children competed in a range of running, jumping and throwing events throughout the day.
Â
The children won silver medals, finishing as runners up to Legh Vale from St Helens.
Â
All of the children performed very well with the highlight being Dylan from Y6 throwing a British record distance for the boys ball throw.
Â
Not only were we proud of the sporting achievement, but we were incredibly proud of their sportsmanship and behaviour throughout the event.
Â
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
