A healthy end to the year!

Class 3/3 finally got to make their eagerly awaited fruit smoothies today. Following the 'Farm to Fork' trip to Tesco earlier on in the term, the children were presented with a free smoothie maker from Tesco for the year group to use. The children worked in groups of 6 to design and make their smoothie, with flavours ranging from blackberry, cherry and banana to mango, pineapple and peach! Having tried most of the classes smoothies, the class overwhelmingly voted for the Blue group's smoothie as the best tasting. It included: cherries, blackberries, strawberries, mango, pineapple, a banana and some apple juice. Yum!

Following the smoothie fun, a group of boys from 6/4 came to do a sporty smiley challenge with the class. Many thanks to the boys who played football, cricket and relay races with Class 3/3.

Summer Term in 3/3

Check out all of our photos below that show you what we've been doing this term...

Included are the Sopwith Camel visiting school, making our fabulous Victorian projects, writing Victorian adventure stories and sharing them with the children in Year 1 and more...

Well, what an exciting half term it's been! From a visit to a graveyard in science to a "Charanga" music assembly for the parents on the last day, and in between... carving designs into clay tiles in art, creating Crème Brulee in Junior Chef, sorting "Igneous and Sedimentary" chocolate bars in science, finding fractions of Smarties, writing and performing poetry, and not to mention learning loads of facts about The Stone Age. Phew!

From reading the children's Stone Age information leaflets, it is clear that they have really enjoyed this topic. Therefore we have decided to carry it on until Easter as there is still so much more to do

HOT HOT HOT sentence!

3/3 are fantastic at up-levelling sentences! From just 5 jumbled up words (boy, dog, the, chased, the), 3/3 created a sentence with fantastic punctuation, adjectives, conjunctions and more!

Alien Invasion Week

Class 3/3 have been involved in lots of different challenges in order to send Rumi home. We successfully collected a transmitter orb and fuel rod for our fantastic work throughout the week. Well done 3/3!  We designed our own alien and used collage materials to bring it to life; we made alien food (slime!); we danced to 'Spaceman' and even performed an alien rap! Phew! What fun!

A great start to Year 3!

Well, Mrs. Jones's smiley jar has never been so busy... what a fantastic start to the year!

We have held a class vote for our story book, which was extremely close, but saw Roald Dahl's the BFG just pipping Mr. Stink to the post.  We have been getting our tongues in a twist with our paired performances of Dr. Seuss's Fox in Socks, and I can't wait for our next drama session, such potential!

Ruby took home Mooch for the weekend for being praised in assembly, so we are all looking forward to hearing what adventures they have been on.
