School Council 2018 - 2019

We have held our school council elections and each class has voted for a representative to stand on our council for this year. We have held our first meetings and begun to discuss possible projects we would like to work on for the year.

Launch Event - Our school council met up with other schools from Southport at Stanley High to decide what events we would be taking part in through the year and what charities we would be supporting. This year all schools will be "Going Orange," for Muscular Dystrophy and wearing swimwear for Water Aid!

Members of Southport School council's joined together at ST. Cuthbert's Church to commemorate the fallen soldiers

Our school council have recently  hired kid caretakers to help look after our school building and playgrounds. The caretakers were employed after writing an application letter, they then were selected following a recruitment process by the council. The caretakers are required to closely monitor playground equipment, activities and resources around school to ensure they are all in good working order and litter free.

Tree Planting At Bedford Park

Our project at Bedford Park is continuing in full force. Today we planted 100 trees around the perimeter of the park. Our pupils worked extremely hard alongside children from Bedford Primary School. We were all able to give names to the trees we planted and made a promise that we can come back in a few years to climb them!
