Laurie Parr Trophy Winners

The A Team played in the final of the Laurie Parr Trophy tonight at Southport' F.C.'s home ground Haig Avenue. They were playing Our Lady of Lourdes, a team they had lost 9-1 to, earlier in the season!

The first half didn't quite go to plan with Farnborough conceding two goals, despite creating a number of chances themselves, both Adam L and Jack G going close, Alex H breaking down the wing and Louis H and Liam L tackling well.

However the second period saw a fantastic response from the A team, with some inspired attacking from Andrew S, James W and two well taken goals from Oscar T. Our defence held strong with Dana A and Kian C working hard together at the back. The team were well on top and didn't want the half to end!

The third period saw end to end attacks from both teams, with more inspired defending from Charlotte I and Robbie J and some stunning saves from our keeper Nathan, including a crucial one with less than a minute to go!

The game finished 2-2 and meant the trophy was shared, a deserved result for both team in the end.

The result just shows how much the team have progressed and improved over the season and as manager I am incredibly proud of each member of the squad - Well Done all of you!
