This year’s Arts Week was inspired by the theme Curiosity and Kindness, encouraging children to explore new ideas, express themselves creatively and celebrate one another through art. Throughout the week, each year group took part in a different creative project, using a range of materials and techniques to reflect on what kindness means and how curiosity can inspire imagination and connection.
- Year 3 created Worry Dolls, designing and making small dolls for a classmate to help ease worries and encourage empathy, friendship and emotional wellbeing through thoughtful gift-giving.
- Year 4 made Creativity Medals, reflecting on acts of kindness and celebrating the positive qualities of their classmates by designing medals to give to one another.
- Year 5 transformed the playground with Pavement Art, planning and creating colourful chalk artwork and uplifting messages to spread kindness and joy throughout the school community.
- Year 6 created expressive Portraits of One Another, using large-scale pastel drawings combined with words and marks to celebrate each other’s unique qualities and strengthen their sense of community.
We are incredibly proud of the creativity, collaboration and care shown by all of our pupils. Arts Week was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the power of art to bring people together and remind us that small acts of kindness can have a big impact.
