  • Farnborough Football at Birkdale Summer Fair

    Farnborough School were invited to take part in a football tournament held at Birkdale Primary School's Summer Fair. The competition was in memory of a firefighter who had lost their life and the winners would be presented with the trophy at Southport Fire Station.

    Our Year 6 players formed one squad and a mix of Year 5 and 4 made a second squad. Both Farnborough teams won all their matches against the Birkdale Primary teams and will jointly be awarded the trophy.

    Many thanks to all the children who played in memory of the firefighter.

  • Year 4 enjoy a visit from Zoolab

    All 4 classes in Year enjoyed a visit from Zoolab as part of their habitats topic. The creatures they saw included: a Giant African Land Snail, a giant millipede, a Chilean Rose Tarantula Spider, a Bearded Dragon, a Corn Snake and some Rats.
  • Green Star League Table Eco Award

    Each year, Sefton Council rates schools on Eco matters such as composting, gardening, energy waste, recycling, litter picking and observing global matters.

    Farnborough Road Junior School won the award for the ‘Most Improved School’ in Sefton. We are now in 8th place out of 76 primary schools!

    On Monday, one child from each year group was picked out of a hat to attend the awards ceremony at the Ramada Plaza Hotel. We were proud to return back to school with a very special award after moving up the league table 35 places. Well done Farnborough!

     

  • Year 3/4 Girls Football Tournament Winners

    A huge well done to the year 3/4 girls football team. They won five of their six games and drew the remaining one. The girls showed great commitment on a very hot afternoon. A fabulous afternoon of football. Well done.
  • Year 4 Golf

    Mon 06 Jul 2015 Nick Hanlon

    All classes in Year have just completed 3 weeks of golf sessions led by 4 boys from Birkdale High School. The children have tried out their putting, chipping and driving skills. They also have the opportunity to try a free taster session at Southport Old Links this Saturday.

    Many thanks to Mr Cunliffe and the boys from Birkdale High School for all their hard work over the last 3 weeks.
