We ran a Walking Bus in July thanks to the hard work of Mrs McDade and Mrs Halsall.
The idea is to encourage children to walk to school, make life easier for families and reduce traffic outside school.
Lots of children came to enjoy the experience and the weather was kind too!
Look out for more news on the Walking Bus in September.
Last week three members of the School Council were invited to Liverpool's NSPCC HQ called the 'Hargreaves Centre'.
The children were invited due to the astonishing amount of money (£4190.01) raised by the pupils at FRJS.
They were took on a tour of the centre and shown all of the different services on offer there. The children were impressed most by the sensory rooms and the call/computer suite where operators take calls.
Thank you to the NSPCC for having us!

5821 children from Sefton, including 120 from our school have broken the World Record and created the largest human poppy on Southport beach today.
Schools from across the borough took part in the event to mark 100 years since the start of World War One and we couldn't miss out. We decided that our Y6 children would love the experience.
The weather was atrocious at times, but the children braved the elements to take part in this memorable event. We will upload photos as and when we can, with the school Twitter feed also producing some great pictures and stories.
Take a look at Year 6, class 6/4's page for the film clip of the event!

Over the past six months the School Council has been working hard with 4 other local schools on an 'Eco Warriors' project for the Southport Learning Partnership.
The children were tasked with making Ainsdale Discovery more child friendly. There have been several visits to the site which resulted in the children producing trail maps, post toppers, information for a website and finally the creation of a mosaic to welcome new visitors.
Two children from FRJS went along to the Ramada Hotel to present what they have been doing to 23 local head teachers, as well as local MP John Pugh.
Their presentation went down a storm and they were rewarded with a fantastic lunch with delicious deserts!
