The eagerly awaited annual A Team Parents versus Players took place at Carr Lane today. Many of the dads had been in training for weeks to make sure that the parents recorded their usual victory over their children! The parents or brothers of the following children took part in the match: Charlotte, Liam, Adam, Robbie, Alex, Dana, Oscar and Kian. Whilst a number of mums, brothers, sisters and even grandparents cheered from the sides. The parents took an early 4 goal lead but the A team fought back with goals from James and Alex saw the score 4-2 at half time. After a short break - (perhaps oxygen) the match resumed with goals by both the parents and team. The game ended with a penalty for the A team cooly slotted by Robbie. The final score 8-5 but no-one really cared - it was just great to see the families all enjoying themselves. Here's to next year.
