FRJS joined with virtually ever Southport school to raise money for Queenscourt Hospice by wearing odd shoes.
Our school is part of Southport Learning Partnership and each year the schools join together on a special day called 'Love My Community'
This year, pupils from the join school councils decided to support Queenscourt by donating a £1 to wear odd shoes for the day. There was a special photo event with all schools at Queenscourt where we met Queenie, the mascot for the hospice.
Thank you to everyone who has made this day such a success.
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the London meetings.
We know that it is not easy to get into school, so we have added a link to the presentation that we used for your information.
This is such a popular trip and the best advert for the residential is the experience of those who have already been on the trip.
A selection of the twitter 'thank-yous' that we go on our return last November are at the foot of this message.
Please email Mr Antell on adrianantell@frjs.co.uk if you have any further questions.

Monday 19th December - Service Above Self Day
As part of our involvement with the Rotary Club Service Above Self, Year 5 spent the day making Christmas crafts for the elderly. Service Above Self focuses on helping others in the local community, charities and looking after our environment.
The children enjoyed making peppermint creams, paper Christmas trees, reindeer tree decorations and Christmas crackers. The children spent time discussing our elderly community and then writing a thoughtful message to attach to their gift to give to someone for Christmas.
A Thoughtful Box of Christmas crafts has also been sent to Byng House in Southport. Byng House is home to the Royal British Legion and the guests staying over Christmas will enjoy the craft items.
we were treated to a brilliant display of pupil work this week when we held our Rocket and Air Raid Shelter display.
The models have been the focus of Y5 and 6 homework for the past few weeks and we saw the outstanding results in our hall.
There were many fabulous ideas and we should thank everyone who has worked so hard to make this event possible.
Today, a very excited group of Year 4 boys, set of to take part in the EFC 5-a-side tournament at Stanley High school.
The team played extremely well during the tournament and were unbeaten throughout. They won their first two games 4-0 and then drew the next two 2-2. They were pipped for a place in the final by Kew Woods who had won one more game than us.
Despite this, all of the boys should be very proud of their performances and their enthusiasm for football. Their willingness to work together and support each other was a real credit to them.
