  • FRJS's First Reading Winners

Mon 18 Jan 2016 Mr Tong

This week we have our first winners of the Reading Competition. The winners of this week were 4/1 and 5/4, as they read the most at home.

As a reward, the children are going for lunch first and have a specially reserved seat for lunch. There were tablecloths and signs, and there are more surprises to follow.

Keep reading at home to make sure your child's class is the next winner.

  • Handwriting Winners Autumn 2015

    Fri 18 Dec 2015 FRJS

Every term we have an anonymous handwriting competition as part of our mentoring week. The piece of writing is colour coded for each class and children have a number that relates to their place in the register. The entries are then passed to a different year group to be judged and winners selected. There are two winners from each class who receive a medal. The overall winner for the year group receives a small trophy that they keep at home for a term - the overall winner for each year group is highlighted in red below. In addition to this we have also a 'most improved' award that is judged by the class teacher.

This term's winners are listed below.

  • Children In Need

    Fri 13 Nov 2015 FRJS

    Pudsey Bear comes to School!

Congratulations to everyone at Farnborough road Juniors who had a fabulous day raising money for Children in Need. We've raised £485 so far for this great cause. Children and staff dressed up in spots and as heroes to raise money today. Some children came as Super Heroes and other came as their childhood heroes - doctors, nurse, teachers, armed forces, police and fire service. Many children came as teachers from school as well as their own personal heroes - mums, Dads, Grandparents and even as their own brothers and sisters. Thanks to the children, parents  and staff for supporting this and to Southport and Hesketh Round Table who brought Pudsey Bear to see us all at lunchtime. Check out our photos below.
