92 Year 5 children are on a 2 day trip to York this week. They have visted the Jorvik centre, York Dungeon and Eden Camp. They are now on their way home with an estimated arrival of around 6pm.
We will post pictures via Twitter but we will also upload some group photos onto this page as the trip progresses.

Thank you to everyone who donated food for our appeal for Southport Soup Kitchen.
We were overwhelmed with beans, pasta, soup, tea coffee and loads of other fabulous donations that will help local people in need.
The donations were taken to the Soup Kitchen on Friday afternoon by three of our Y6 children and the food will be used immediately.
Thank you everyone!
Did you know...
The school have just moved into a new site and they are working hard to make it a lovely place for children to go to school. Although the children are now on the new site, they do not yet have working toilets so there is a long way to go.
We have visited the school on two occasions and we have built a long lasting link with our friends at Evergreen.
Enjoy the pictures!
Farnborough Celebrates Talent 2018 was an amazing success. 20 acts from across the school performed for children and parents and showed a wonderful range of skills. We had dancers, comedians, singers, guitarists and a wealth of other musicians.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this event happen and congratulations to every child who took part in this event at some point. We are already looking forward to next time!
Your child’s teacher should have sent you a photo of your child performing on the big day via Dojo. If your child took part in finals day and you have not had your photo, please message your child’s teacher.
When a class all gain a 3rd Gold card they have a school reward of a day off timetable. 5/1 decided on a day out to Freshfield. Parents were invited along with any other members of the family including dogs!
The day started with catching the train from Hillside to Freshfield. Some parents travelled with us, others met us at Freshfield. We walked up to the squirrel reserve and were very lucky to see nearly 10 red squirrels scampering about the pinewoods.
Next the class enjoyed a walk through the woods with den building and a little tree climbing for the more adventurous!
Next stop was the beach - time for lunch - and then playing in the sand or a splash in the nearby water. The dogs were certainly having a good time, especially Milo who managed to finish off several packed lunches and Ebony who spent hours chasing the ball or frisbees.
On our way back to the train station we stopped off for a well deserved ice cream, before climbing back on board the train.
The children, dogs teachers and parents all had a fantastic day and the class were a real credit to Farnborough Road in the way they behaved.
On Wednesday evening we were invited to attend The Rotary Club Service Above Self awards at The Royal Clifton Hotel. The awards night is held to recognise the contribution of local primary schools to the community, charities, helping others and the environment.
Our school was represented by members of our school council and children that had taken part in the SMILE challenge. Farnborough Road Junior School were awarded a Highly Commended Certificate for all our hard work across all categories. This is a fabulous achievement by all our children, parents and staff.
Thank you to The Rotary Club for a fantastic evening.
Mrs Coupland
We are very proud of the effort made by the children in Year 5!
