We welcomed the author Damian Harvey into school today. He spoke to all of the children about being an author and how he gets his fabulous ideas.
The children asked some great questions and LOVED his books!
On Wednesday, The Pop Project came to school. In a fantastic presentation called ' I Feel Good', they taught us about keeping healthy in mind, body and spirit. We learned about physical and emotional health, friendships, diversity, resilience, respect and tolerance. We heard stories about inspirational people and danced and sang along to lots of brilliant songs.
Ghana Day 2018
Thank you to everyone who made our day for Evergreen Blossom Academy School so successful last Friday.
Thanks to your generosity we raised over £800 for the school and also collected a good number of old Premier league shirts which we plan to take to the children over half term.
The money will be spent on:
· An iPad and Bluetooth speaker for the school
· A football kit for the school football team
· A play parachute for the children—we plan to teach them some parachute games whilst we are in the school
We are also taking out
· A good quality projector and leads from our school that we no longer use. This will allow them to get full use of the iPad and speaker
· Two recycled laptops
· The ‘old style’ football shirts
We took an amazing photograph thanks to ML Aerial Photos who flew a drone over the school whilst the children formed the word GHANA on our playground. We plan to take this as a gift to the school as well. We were lucky to get a clear blue sky in the middle of a wet winter. Thanks to everyone who wore their colours to make the photo so effective.
Mr Spall and I are accompanying Greenbank on a trip to Evergreen over half term. Can I assure you that no taxpayers money has been used for this! We have asked companies to sponsor school to make this possible. We like our link, but we shouldn’t be using our school money to pay for it—that is for your children!!
Service Above Self Community Concert
Our Mini Singers performed a fantastic community Christmas concert for the residents of Byng House. Byng House provides service and ex-service men and women with an opportunity to have a break.
The children performed Christmas songs and our guests loved joining in. Our guests were thrilled with the Christmas readings performed by the children. The guest enjoyed some festive refreshments to finish off a perfect Christmas afternoon.
Thank you to Mrs Caddell and Mrs Wright for all their hard work preparing for the concert.
Mrs Coupland
Thank you to everyone who helped by donating a 'Christmas Box' through the Rotary Club this year.
Because of your generosity, 120 children and families in a more deprived part of the World will receive a special gift in the coming days.
The boxes were collected from school on Friday by local Rotary members and will now start their lorry journey. Helping others in the World is such an important thing to do and we are very grateful for having such a caring local community who make this happen.
