Mr Tong took a team of Year 4 children to North Meols Tennis Centre on Wednesday. Georgia, Kai, Adam and Paige all played brilliantly, as it was some of their first tennis tournaments. The sun was shining, and the first game we played was against Norwood, which was very close, with a member of the group losing by 1 point, and another one drawing. The next game against Kew Woods was very well played, as we won convincingly and had to await the news as to whether we made the semi finals. Ultimately, we missed out by a point, but were allowed to play some friendlys whilst enjoying being outdoors in the sunshine. A great morning had by everyone involved, and the four children were all a credit to the school.Â
Mr Tong
Congratulations to our girls football team who won their tournament on Friday afternoon, winning 5 and drawing 1 of their games. In addition, their manners and sportsmanship were complimented by the organisers.
Â
Well done girls!
The Year 6 children went to  Crosby Lakeside and enjoyed a day of watersports.

Our staff team of 11 completed the Run or Dye 5km event at Aintree on June 6th 2015. This fun event involves the competitors being covered in dye every kilometre. Photos of our team have now been added to this page.
Â
Thanks to the generosity of so many people, we think our total amount raised will exceed £1000 in the coming days. This is a fabulous amount and we are so grateful for the help and support we have received.
Â
We decided to use the event to raise money for Debra, the charity that helps raise money for children who suffer from the genetic skin condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa. Children with EB are sometimes called Butterfly Children as their skin is so delicate.
Â
Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a group of genetic skin conditions which cause the skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch. this makes everyday life painful and very difficult. Most people don't know anything about this terrible disease and most families have no warning that their new baby will have EB. I would ask that you all spend 5 minutes of your busy lives watching the video on this link.

Â
I have sadly had personal experience with this horrendous condition. Connor Marsden was a pupil at my previous school in St Helens. Connor had EB and he sadly passed away in July 2014 just as he was becoming an adult. His family lived with the impact of the disorder every day and Connor was always in pain. He had to have blisters burst, wounds bathed and dressings applied before he came to school each day. He couldn't eat normal food and even having a bath was excruciating. I asked the staff team if we could support the charity that helped his family throughout his short life.Â

The Year 5 football team played in the North West Grand Final at Goodison Park, during the half term holidays. The boys walked out of the tunnel to 'Z cars' and rapturous applause from parents and friends.
The team played fantastically well, especially in the second half, where the opposition team goalkeeper produced 3 excellent saves to keep us out. Unfortunately we lost 1-0, but they should be extremely proud of how they performed on the day.Â
Â
After a few weather hiccups we eventually managed to hold two successful sports day events at Greenbank.

Day 1 and 2 eggs!!
Â
Year 6 children collected our first eggs and gave them to the canteen for lunch!
The school took ownership of 8 new chickens today.
Â
A special run has been built for them in the nature area where they will spend most of their time. We hope to let them out a little more in the winter months, when the daylight hours are shorter, but for now, they are making their home in their very smart enclosure.
Â
The children will look after the birds, with classes from both schools caring for them on a rota basis. Eggs that are produced will go to the school canteen for use at lunchtimes and Kelly, our cook, will make sure the children know how she has used them. We also plan to use scraps from the kitchen to help vary their diet.
Â
Classes will look after the birds on the weekdays. Fun4Kidz will be in charge during the holidays. At weekends we will make sure that they have enough to eat and drink for a couple of days. Their coop has an electronic door closer to keep them safe and warm at nights.
Â
Chickens plan their days by the sun. They like to get up when the sun rises and take themselves to be when it is getting dark. Once they are in a routine, they are very easy to care for.
Â
This is an exciting new venture for the school. We hope everyone enjoys seeing our new friends.
Â
Do we need some names? What do you think?
This evening all 18 of the C team players had a fantastic opportunity to play in the final of the Greenall Cup at Southport F.C's ground 'Haig Avenue'.
Â
The team's final was against St Patricks, a talented team who we had met previously in the league. The large pitch was a new challenge to our players, but all approached it with enthusiasm and commitment to eventually produce a brilliant result!
Â
In the first period two goals from Naveen (well set up by Harry) brought the team in 2-2 at the break.
Â
In the following period our team stormed forward to produce a well worked team goal from Owen, after some un-selfish play from our striker Dylan.
Â
The shorter third period saw a well deserved goal from midfielder Tristan to secure our win.
Â
Finally, the fourth period saw great opportunities for Sophie and Oliver, who both narrowly missed the target.
Â
The team have been enthusiastic and whole heartedly committed to training and their matches. All the players have improved hugely this year and their Greenall Cup win was more than well deserved. Fantastic!
The Summer Sleepover for over 130 children is taking place and we are all having a great time!
Â
The children have all slept well and we are getting ready for breakfast. More photos have been added below.
